Spring Fever

Well - at last I am feeling a little settled.  I have unpacked the last of the boxes.  Still have some organizing left, but pictures are hung, and it looks like a real house.  I hate moving, and will die before I do it again.

But being settled brings time to get some projects done.  I have been having a little fun in my new office, so I thought I would share with you!

My first project was some gifts I gave away for mothers day to my kids "other" mothers.  I found a tutorial for these super cute momma bird necklaces, and knew between that and a super cute box, it would be a rockin' gift.  I used Lori Whitlock's hello Summer paper collection from Echo Park and her cute necklace box file found here, then topped it off with a cute flower found here.

You can find the necklace tutorial here.

ok, next up to bat was a fun and simple count down.  I have always wanted to make one of these, and never had the spot to put it, until now... so I grabbed an unfinished 12x12 frame, painted it turquoise, and inserted a 12x12 chalkboard.  To top it off, a little vinyl countdown.  I think its message gets changes once or twice daily, but it's all good.  I guess they are excited about school getting out, because all of my kids have written schools out and changed the day number.... I even think it looks cuter with their hand wrtiting on it...

You can find the file for the countdown here.

ok, last but not least, I dressed up some pots for my front porch.  I saw some pots on pinterest that had painted polka dots on them, and I thought I could do better than that, so with some out door vinyl, a couple of borders, a house number and a G - for Graham of course, I made my front entry so happy!

Just wish me luck keeping my plants alive for the summer!

Have a great week!

Super cute flower frame

Hello - I wanted to share a little project I made the other day for my daughters room.  We are getting ready to pack up and head back to the states, and our new house is going to allow all my kids a room of their very own, which means my mind has been going non stop trying to find cool things to make their room more their own.  My oldest daughter picked out her new bedding the other day (with a nudging from mom), which so happens to match Echo Parks new line from Lori Whitlock.  Imagine that...(not that it didn't cross my mind when we were online browsing, and I have been known to buy things just because it matches scrapbook paper I have...I am sure you have never done that....)   so I looked around for a frame I had that we could alter, and I found this wooden frame I picked up at Walmart a while back on clearance for 3 dollars!

Here's what I came up with...

I used Lori's new line This and That from Echo Park, and Lori's flower die cut files found here and here.  I first painted the sides and inside lip with white paint, then covered the frame with paper with mod podge, added the stickers from the collection, die cut the flowers and attached them with the matching brads.  It looks like I spent hours on it, but in reality, it took less than an hour, and that was because I had to wait for the pain and mod podge to dry....

Now to try to find the time to take a picture of her to put in the frame.... but one project for her room done, a few hundred more to come...
