Wrapping up Christmas

Hello - I hope you all are having a wonderful Christmas!  I am still in panic mode, trying to get all the loose ends done, and finish up all the "projects" and homemade gifts I have brewing over here.

I just knocked out a few gifts this weekend and I thought I would share with you.  First is a gift card holder for my sister-in-law.  (gift card is still on my to do list, but that's how I roll...) and the second is a money holder I plan on giving my nephew (hopefully my sister won't peek at this post and tell :)...)  He is leaving on a mission for our Church to Mexico, and plan on filling it with Mexican Pesos! Last but not least, a gingerbread box I made to slip in a little treat for someone special...

Last but not least, I wanted to share with you my cover for my digital December Daily book.  You can find the pages here.  I love this line by Echo Park because not only is in all it's glory digital, but you can  find it printed as well.  All my inside pages are 5x7 prints that I created digitally, and then made a cover for it with the printed paper.  I used the following files, all found at Lori's store.

With the holiday's just around the corner, I always get a little overwhelmed with things I think I need to do, or make.  I am sure none of you can relate.  There are a couple things I am not willing to give up.  My December Daily project is always important, but I have only done it a couple of times, and spent hour after hour working on it.  They always turn out so darling and they are really one of my favorite things to do.  But this year, my plate seems a little fuller than normal.  So instead of making a unique, one of a kind mini book, I simplified it.  I did it digital.  I still love the mixture of media used in my previous years, but I still think this turned out cute.  I made 11 different templates, some with more than one picture, some with only one.  I plan on each weekend, sitting down, and simply putting the pictures and journaling in a template.  I figure with 11 different templates, I could mix them up a little, or even change out the paper to make them look a little different.  Either way, simple, easy and fun!

For the whole album I used Lori's digital files of This and That Christmas found a Jessica Sprague.  I loved how she had lots of date embellishments, and a whole sheet of pattern paper with numbers on it, so adding dates will be super simple!  All pages are 5x7's to make for easy printing and finding page protectors.

One fantastic thing about living in Canada, is that their Thanksgiving is in October, so it is totally socially exeptable to decorate for Christmas imediatly after Halloween and no one will think anything of it.  So I think I will jam out to some favorite Christmas music and decorate the house today...  but before I do, I want to share this fun project with you!  I am sure you have heard of the fabulous Ali Edwards and her December Daily project, well this is the second year I have done this, and it was so much fun!  I wanted to make sure I documented our last Canadian Christmas with as much gusto as possible.... so here is my take on 2011 December Daily - well at least the starter pages.  (I will post each week my pages as they progress - it will be fun!)

 I haven't bound it, because, well I am having a hard time finding some giant rings, I will keep searching, if not, well I am sure maybe a little present fairy might send me some :), or I'll pick them up when I am in Utah for Christmas.  The front and back cover

I used Echo Park's Season Greetings line, including their stickers, brads and chipboard peices.  The only thing I added was cardstock and other various page bases.  The little subway art on the inside back cover was downloaded from Kerri Bradford.  There are a couple loose items I dug out, but I would guess 90 percent of it is from that line - I loved it that much!

Oh, wait - I'm not done - I have another freebie for you!  This is one from me!

This is what I am doing for neighbors and friends for Christmas - it's a dry erase frame, for you to make you Christmas lists on.  I have done these for the last year for different seasons, and my kids love it.  I hang them in my entry way, and it is a fun reminder for my family to go and have some fun!  As you can see, as soon as I brought mine upstairs, my six year old added her ideas to the list (maybe you can't tell my handwriting from hers, but she added sledding!)  I printed mine as an 11x14 at Costco, and framed it in a cheap old frame from Walmart.  Which looked a little dull, so I painted it red with Martha Stewarts new glitter paint - now it looks like Dorothy's ruby slippers!  I love it.  I printed the rest as a 8x10, added them to a dollar store frame, wrapped it with tulle ribbon, with a dry marker, a cute snowflake (also found at the dollar store) and a matching tag, and you have an inexpensive gift to give away.

You'll want to get these done early so you can give them out soon, so they can enjoy it all season, and you can check one thing of your list a little early!  Who doesn't like to get things done early -
